World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage. For example an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value). The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level. Components Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns. An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for example “Canthan Armor Insignia” becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level with normal methods. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset. The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted. Glyphs Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can. In the final game you'll often discover that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster. Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place. The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph. Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts. Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats. Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is best to place Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their primary damage nodes. Leveling The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is often referred to as “upping”. Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up. Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item. When an individual player upgrades the equipment they have it will be replaced with an item that is new. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may become more expensive even if you do not need it. Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do so. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources. Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like dolphins). The item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value. Requirements The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable gear—armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades. If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure. When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied. The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each upgrade. item upgrader could have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to carry every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine.
